Entry level employees will be trained, develop and promoted within the company for a temp-to-hire position. Production Worker in the mills is physically demanding and you will be challenged to learn different roles and new skills. Production Workers play a vital role in maintaining the location's operations by sweeping, shoveling, pulling lumber off the line "pulling green chain", packaging lumber for shipment, applying bar codes and more. This position is the first step in the company and successful individuals will be prepared to move into other positions or departments, including forklift and machinery operator roles, maintenance or skilled trades such as saw filing and grading. Accountabilities. Be able to do repetitive work and stand for a minimum of 8-10 hours per day. Operate machinery with a strong sense of responsibility. Move quickly, consistently and safely to keep up with the current flow of production. Be able and willing to learn new positions in a short period of time. Possess good communication skills and work well in a team setting. Demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. If necessary, print shipping tickets from computer. Ideal Candidate Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Have the legal right to work in the United States. Available for all shifts including weekend work. Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand up to 10 hours a day, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop and bend at waist, and move equipment as needed. Must be comfortable in year around outdoor temperatures, in loud conditions, with airborne particles (sawdust), and working around moving mechanical equipment. Basic computer skills required. Team player and highly self-motivated individual. Previous manufacturing experience preferred but NOT required.
